Parables of Jesus Part I: Why Parables? (Matthew 13:10-17)

Parables are simple comparisons between tangible life experiences and divine, Kingdom principles that even a babe could understand. Yet, even the most experienced scholars were, and still are, perplexed by the nuances of Christ's analogies. In our Parables of Jesus opener, God reminds us that without repenting toward or believing in Jesus, which brings the Holy Spirit down to dwell in us, no amount of head knowledge of Scriptures will help us understand the principles of the Kingdom. But for the one who believes, all he must do is ask, as God longs to commune with us in mind, body, soul, and spirit.
